LOOKING FOR INBOUND PLAYS

By: Coach Thompson
Add to Mixx!

It starts in a stack formation, with the 3 taking
the ball out of bounds. 2 is one step above the
block, 4 is right behind him, 1 is right behind
him, and 5 is right behind him. 3 hits the ball
with both hands to start the play. 4 man pushes
the 2 man one way or the other and then goes out
to the opposite side that he pushed the 2 man.
the 1 curls around the 5 man toward the half court
Then the 1 goes to the side of the ball around
the hash mark. The 5 waits one second and then
goes right at the ball hard with his hands up.
The 5 man will usually get a wide open layup the
first couple of times you run this play. If the
five man is not open he will throw a pass to either
the 2 man or the 1 man. If the pass goes to the
2 man he turns and kicks the ball out to the one
man and screens down for the 3 man to come off
the screen for an open jumper. If the inbounds
pass skips the 2 man and goes out to the 1 man
then the 2 will go and set the screen for 3, 3
comes off the screen for the open jumper. After
inbounding, if no shot is available, set up your
offense. I hope you can understand my explanation
of this inbounds play, as it has been very
successful for me. E-mail me with any questions
and let me know how it works for you.
